

Hi, I’m Cheyney and I’m the foodie behind cook●int! I grew up in Houston, Texas, but have lived in the northeast and the mid-Atlantic for nearly half my life. While I will always consider myself a Texan, I found that I love being in Virginia, and know this is where home is for the foreseeable future. I live here with my husband, Alex, our Siberian Husky, Koa, and our three feral rescue kitties: Theo, Millie, and Stella.
I discovered my love of cooking my senior year of college, and have been experimenting with different flavors, ingredients, and cuisines ever since. I was always surrounded by incredible home-cooking growing up, courtesy of my mom, and I was always encouraged to try something once before I rule it out. Once I married into a Cypriot Greek family, my flavor profile expanded yet again, and my husband and friends have been the best taste-testers around.
I believe that food and home-cooking is not only *a* love language, it is my love language. I love entertaining and finding unique, delicious ways of cooking for a crowd, but also creating dishes that feel like a warm hug at the end of a long day. This is the home for some of those experiments.
